If like me, you love books and journals and old paper documents, you are about to discover that Ross Macdonald might just have one of the coolest jobs in the known universe. And he definitely has one of the coolest work environments.

Ross is a paper prop specialist. That is, he designs and creates documents, posters, newspapers, business cards, comic books and all the those other paper accoutrements that are used in movies and TV shows.

It is fascinating to see how much time and effort goes into developing the entire back story that goes into a paper prop, including its narrative, illustration, form and any ageing that may be required.
Sometimes it takes months to produce a prop that may play a pivotal moment in the movie or just be seen in a fleeting glimpse or unfocused background shot.
