So I have just returned from spring sesshin with Black Mountain Zen Group.
Traditionally, an individuals experiences during sesshin are not discussed in public (although I have written about my first sesshin in detail here). Its a private time so I won’t say too much about the whole thing. Except perhaps to say… that its not what you think ( a little zen humour there yuk yuk yuk).
Anyways, here are a few tiny glimpses from the week.

My day-to-day activities are no more
Than whatever I happen to come across.
There’s nothing to acquire, nothing to abandon,
Nothing to assert, nothing to deny.
What are marks of high rank?
Even the hills and mountains crumble to dust.
I use my mysterious spiritual powers
To carry water and haul firewood. Layman Pang (740-808)
