Andrew Huberman is an American neuroscientist and professor of Neurobiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
In this video (also available as a podcast) he looks at the topic of neuroplasticity and how you can optimise high focus, high alertness states (or states of autonomic arousal) to improve your own learning and performance health.
Dr Huberman gives clear, evidence-based tools to provide optimum learning mind states, and relates them to his day to day strategies including periods of deep rest or meditation.
“I frame this in the context of our daily 24-hour cycle in order to make it practical, clear and precise about timing. I review the role of fasting, meal timing and specific types of nutrients for promoting certain states of mind. I also review various other tools and biological factors that directly or indirectly gate brain function and that we can control. I answer commonly asked questions about the science of psychedelics, binaural beats, and visualization.“
