COVID isolation: Day 5.
Situation report: Kelly still has a persistent ashtray cough. Reports feeling about:
- 60% OK,
- 5% funky,
- 35% Rubbish.
I feel fine. Touch wood.
This morning to lift Kelly’s spirits I made waffles!
Let’s see where is that recipe? It’s in the top drawer here somewhere. Rummage, rummage, rummage.
Kelly gave me a Sunbeam Vertical Waffle Maker for my birthday, and this thing is dope. It makes American style waffles in 5 min, perfect every time.
Four point five out of five stars (not sponsored…but willing to be).
Anyone can make waffle mix, it’s just flour, baking powder, milk, castor sugar, throw in an egg and a little cinnamon powder for taste.
However. Not anyone can manage to get aforementioned mix on the lounge-room ceiling and the dog, and make the kitchen look like a Tupperware truck that has driven into a meth lab and then detonated a batter bomb.
MUCH LATER….
Move over Masterchef, this is the REAL deal. Hot waffles with banana, blueberries, and veggie bacon (because I don’t condone the torture of pigs). Canadian Maple Syrup pourover and serve.
Accompany with a hot Nespresso.
One serve for me and one into the COVID-lock for Kelly.
Now…I think it will take about 3 days for me to clean up this mess.
In order to postpone the cleanup (maybe it won’t look so bad after everything has dried up and caked on), I wander off to my study and consider reorganising some of my book collection.
Perhaps in order of categories, or alphabetical authorship, or by the colour of the spine. Maybe by size. Or in descending order of awesomeness.
Hmmmm, I didn’t think this would be so difficult.
Instead, I snap a couple of pictures so you can zoom in and browse at your leisure. That is, if like me, you are fascinated by checking out other people’s stuff. Particularly book stuff. Here you go…

Feeling, satisfied that I have now accomplished sufficient activities for the day, I wander back (circumventing the kitchen) and look for my Kindle.
Oh…Kelly? Oops. I’m not sure. I suppose I had better check.
