I notice there is a new book out by Sam Parnia called Lucid Dying. I have not read it yet but it is now locked into my reading queue.
Sam Parnia is director of research into cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the NYU Langone Medical Center where he has done extensive research into the topic of Near Death Experience and was lead author in the largest scientific study to date of Near Death Experience (NDE) called the AWARE II study.

You can read an extensive review of the book by Ben Williams here:
Is sound as if this book gets a little technical at times, but if you are interested in the topics of NDE and consciousness and believe (as I do) that there is now a significant body of evidence supporting the view that consciousness is non-local (ie not produced by the brain), it may well be worth a read. I will drop another post once I have read it myself.
“We agree that they experience a new dimension of reality in death. We also do not think the finding of brain electrical markers of hyperconsciousness means the brain is producing the experience. On the contrary, it means the mind and consciousness, tethered to the brain in death, are interacting with and modulating the brain.”

Post Script:
I had my own micro-NDE when I went to purchase this book on Amazon.
$31.99 AUD to download it on my Kindle? I mean…..Really??
The hardcover version is selling for $47 bucks…..so how in the name of out-of-body-experiences do they justify selling what is essentially a text file (that you don’t even technically own, but more accurately, rent from Amazon) at such a high price point?
Anyway, I digress.

What say you? Please leave a comment!
