Monochrome photo of large concrete bunker covered sparcly with tree foliage. In the centre of the picture are 3 raised rectangular objects.

Block dock.

Circular logo containing the text: 100% human generated. In the centre is a scribble drawing of a brain.

I like the textures and shadow shapes in this composition as well as the contrast between natures detritus and the human block concrete.

I wandered around this…. I think it’s some sort of air conditioning structure… while snapping off different angles and distances. The joy of photography as a hobby is it forces you to drop all your cognitive biases and really pay attention to the grok1 of everyday objects otherwise missed. This photo is the one I settled on presenting to you.

  1. “Grok (/ˈɡrɒk/) is a neologism coined by the American writer Robert A. Heinlein in his 1961 science fiction novel Stranger in a Strange Land. The Oxford English Dictionary summarizes the meaning of grok as “to understand intuitively or by empathy, to establish rapport with”, and “to empathize or communicate sympathetically (with); also, to experience enjoyment” — Wikipedia ↩︎
