Checked out the Canberra Enlighten Festival last night. A beautiful warm fresh-cut grass Autumn evening in the nations capital.

This is the 4th time we have wandered the iconic local buildings now all lit with giant art projections and bespoke soundscapes.

Yet, to be honest, each year has been slightly more disappointing than the last.

It was good but it was not great.

Perhaps it was because we went on a weeknight, and did not see the full repertoire of street performance offerings I have seen in past years.
But to me, the focus seemed to have shifted from the free art offerings to the expensive food and alcohol vendors…now thats a light show.

No doubt Im getting a little too critical in my elder years but…..Five and a half (slightly stale) enlightened stars out of ten.

Less consume and more enlighten please.
