I’m already seeing a proliferation of AI-generated website content, photos, videos, and even music albums spreading out on the internet like a toxic plague of techbro lazy.

At the moment it is not that difficult to pick the slop from the genuine creative human content (here is a video with some tips) but as these LLM become more educated (by stealing the content of authors, scientists, poets, painters, musicians, photographers, philosophers etc) it will not be so obvious.

So why would that matter? If AI is making engaging, interesting, informative content why shouldn’t I just consume it?

Two reasons:

1. AI doesn’t know what words (images, sounds) mean.
2. AI does not care.

Just in case you not yet as triggered as I am by the badness of all this and how it is bludgeoning to death the real creativity and connectivity of humans, you might watch this guy venting about this very topic far more eloquently than I can.
