The magnificent gnarled trunk and outspread branches of an old mother oak.

Oak? Pine? I’m slightly ashamed that I don’t know for sure. In high school, I took a class that studied the flora and fauna of our local area.
The teacher, Mr. Robbins, was cool as fuck,
and passionate about the environment,
and really into Dungeons and Dragons,
and climbing trees to show us stuff,
and weird,
spontaneous funk-dancing
right on top of the science tables in the middle of class,
and other miscellaneous outlier behaviours.
But I was too distracted by girls and wasted the opportunity to absorb all this. Hence I cant remember if this is an Oak, or a Pine, or something else altogether.
I think of Mr Robbins often.
