El Nino badness incoming.

Some new peer-reviewed research (including a paper from our very own Australian Bureau of Meteorology or BOM) predicts increased severity of El Nino effects as this usually unpredictable system stabalises and intensifies.

The roll on impact for severe weather events, global food security and geopolitical badness is going to be significant.

I recommend watching this video from Just Have a Think (an excellent source of solid science based information).

I get it, It is easy to just say yes I already know that climate change is happening. I don’t need to see more of this stuff. And this video looks about as interesting as belly button lint.

Thing is, it is important to know exactly what is happening, and why, and what climate scientists are saying screaming is about to happen in the very near future.

It is important to think about this stuff critically, to mull over how you feel about it at a deep level, and reflect on how you should or should not choose to respond.

  1. I thought it was El Nino Baldness you were referring to. Too late for both of us. Probably too late for climate change as well 😦
