This section of the tree branch was lying in shallow water at the edge of Lake Burley Griffin.
For some reason it reminded me of local hiking expeditions with best friends as a kid… and finding sun bleached sheep bones laying scattered around the tussocks and spinning stories at each other that they were probably human, probably murdered, probably by aliens.
I’m all grown up now. Things got real. I know what’s what.
This is definitely a tree bone.
Metacarpal if I’m not mistaken.
It was a devil to photograph as I was out walking my dog, and for some reason, he would not come over to the water’s edge.
No way. 4 legs planted, tail tucked. Not happening.
Once I got the shot and stepped back, he was fine again.
Weird.
Probably aliens.
