Monochrome photo of large metal sculpture seen through the trees.

Late afternoon walk.

Took an early evening walk beside the lake seeking shelter from the hot hot day.
But it was still 30 plus degrees, and the expected lake breeze was asystolic.

I took the cam, but just wasn’t into it. A couple of shots. Nothing much. Sorta OK. Here they are.

The lawn at the sculpture garden was lush and cool and shaded. I resheathed the Fujifilm, and plonked myself down. I people watched for a while. Who in their right minds would be out jogging in this heat?

Then there was nothing left to do except flop back and look up at the sky making pseudo snow-angels in the grass.

  1. I looked for youth in every cupboard,

    I searched under every rug,

    Where had it gone?

    I sighed and went outside.

    Life walked by

    In a pin-striped suit

    And carrying a briefcase.

    “How’s business?” I asked.

    “Dying”.
