OK I just had to make this post. If you are into music, you already know all about this band. They have blown up on all the socials. And their live concerts are selling out in microseconds.

Angine de Poitrine (French for angina pectoris) is a 2 piece out of Quebec. Khn plays guitar and bass and loops, Klek is on drums.

When I fist listened to this group I though it was some performance art piece and gave it about 20 seconds before deciding it was definitely not my thing.

But for some reason the infections sound and the Dada-ist costumes had lodged in some important part of my brain… I went back and listened to some more. And then some more.

And then my brain melted.

Now I am a convert. This music (especially as a live performance) is unlike anything you will likely hear on the mainstream algorithms. It is microtonal, it is jazz, it is rock, it is middle eastern….

It is infections and uplifting and fun and positive and dance inducing and so refreshing in this time of mass-produced music slop and cookie cutter pop stars.

Check it out. You will probably absolutely hate it first blush. But hang in there, you are now infected. Go on Youtube and search for more. Try their latest album: Volume II, released today.

Fair warning…with a little luck your brain will melt too.
