The UN’s independent Commission of Inquiry into the matter has explicitly concluded genocide. The International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) passed a resolution in August 2025 stating that Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide. Two major Israeli human-rights organisations have reached the same conclusion, as well as Amnesty International, which concluded that,

“Genocidal intent is the only reasonable conclusion.”

Genocides are best called while they’re ongoing, not after the fact when nothing can be done. That is why the bodies and definitions have been established – to stop this evil horror while we can. Sure, only 74,000 Gazans have been murdered. But Israel is showing absolutely no sign of stopping. The intent, which they’ve vocalised and demonstrated repeatedly, is to wipe out the joint. This is explicitly what defines a genocide.
