Part of a series of snapshots taken from an ordinary life.
Pumpkin and cauliflower curry for dinner. A favourite to be certain. My partner preps it up, and into the pressure cooker with it all. I listen to the chop, chop, chop as I type these words.
Taking turns to cook dinner is the thing. Occasionally we will cook together. A scenario that usually (ie always) ends up being too many cooks in the kitchen as the saying goes.
Therefore: One cooks, one washes up afterwards. Tomorrow switch.
Unfortunately from my point of view, the produce to utensil ratio is far from equal, and it seems to me Kelly requires every measuring cup, garlic crusher, spoon, blender, frypan, mixer, and Tupperware container within a cooee distance to make dinner.
I, on the other hand, use a minimalistic, almost zen master approach with my cooking. Washing up jetsam is negligible.
Mind you, to be fair…bake beans on toast is not a complex dish.
–ooOoo–
We are growing our own varieties of pumpkin this spring. Every evening Kelly goes out to the patch to rain righteous obliteration down on any slug or snail unlucky enough to try their luck. So. The crop is coming along quite nicely, but they are not quite ready for harvesting yet.
Dinner is on. It already smells great. I am going off to sit evening Zazen for 25 min. I’ll be back in time to nuke a few pappadams and serve it up on a bowl of steaming rice.
