Cotter Dam.

Originally build in 1915 and then extended in 2013, this concrete and rockfill embankment dam provides a reservoir of potable water for the city of Canberra.

It is named after Garrett Cotter, one of the original settlers in the area.

  • Storage capacity 78 gigalitres.
  • Spillway discharge rate, 5,670 cubic metres per second.
