Another day of high temperatures (37-39C), extreme fire danger and a tinder bush. The hot wind is gusting through it all in an almost excited anticipation of any combustion.
Many parts of Australia are burning today. Loss of property and life.
It is a disaster as the news reporters exclaim, unfolding.
Here though, the sky is cloudless blue, except for the upwind horizon which is soiled with the trace of a brown smokey smudge.
