If you live in Australia, you MUST watch this.

We are on a slippery slope. And we are slipping.

Recently, here in my home city of Canberra, the local police shut down a cafe and live music venue because they judged some (albeit edgy) satirical political cartoons that were on display to be hate symbols.

Were they hate symbols? Why is this even important?

You need to watch this excellent breakdown of the whole thing by a lawyer and ex-cop to understand the larger implications for personal expression, art, and social cohesion within Australian society.

    “It is possibly the most spectacular moment of resistance that I can think of in the 20th Century… The fact that five little kids, in the mouth of the wolf, where it really counted, had the tremendous courage to do what they did, is spectacular to me. I know that the world is better for them having been there, but I don’t know why.”
