Monochrome photo of old country store long since closed.

Milkbar lost.

This is a classic example of an old abandoned shopfront in a small country town.

I sort of got the feeling it used to be a milk bar.

Pressing my nose up to the window and peering into the boarded, cluttered gloom did not give up any historical clues… other than suggesting its final iteration was as a second hand clothing slash antique slash miscellaneous junk store.

Circular logo containing the text: 100% human generated. In the centre is a scribble drawing of a brain.

The secrets are now well guarded by a ceramic duck, a chicken, and a troll (did you see them?)…and a sprinkling of blowfly carcasses. All posted on a sad, disintegrating vigilance in the window.

It took me a while to compose this shot without getting my reflection in the window. The bushland behind me was fulfilling the shopfront.

Looking at it now, I think it captures the sort of slow generational hopelessness of a crumbling town well enough.
