Follow this: The Tokyo Hermit.

A beautiful little blog that examines some Japanese words and concepts that we would do well to introduce into our own vocabs.

The Tokyo Hermit.

The author, Tōan writes from the twelfth floor of a small Tokyo apartment about wabi-sabi, mottainai, and the slow art of attention.

For example… Ma: the space between the notes. Mono no aware: the beauty that is already leaving. Tsundoku: the word for books you have not read.

And so on. Each post is a meditation on language and life.
