The sunday ride.

A spectacular Autumn Sunday, and after feeling off-kilter and sub-par for the last wee while….I am defo shaking it off to take a ride.

A menagerie of other cyclists out enjoying the day. Ebikes and racers and fixies and fat tyres. Bikes congregated in tangled groups around coffee shops… drawn like mechanical antelope to a watering hole.

This Sunday I estimate that at least 70% of cyclists were 60-plus years of age. This is the greatest legacy of the e-bike revolution. Older folk who would otherwise be losing it instead of using it, are now active physically and socially.

The lycra thing though….you do you and all, but lycra does not sit well on the plump and droop, the spindle and crevice of later life.

Please substitute the stretch with a little funky and comfy. Bonus points for socks and sandals.
