Storm warning.

My pictures are maps.
You are the legend.

I pulled over.

It was early morning and I was driving back home. There was a short dirt road off to the right and I saw this gap in the clouds just beyond. The sunlight was a silver oxide shaft illuminating a group of swans.

By the time I had stopped and gathered my camera, the light had shifted and the swans had drifted. But the air had that crisp post storm smell, and the sounds of quietude were intoxicating. So I just squatted for a while, slowing my breath and soaking in the territory.

After a moment or perhaps a minute I lifted my camera and captured a map.
