Pretty happy with the way this photo turned out. More of a painting really¹. I will give myself an 8 out of 10 (and I’m a hard marker).

The afternoon light was sensational, and the colors seemed to be turned up to eleven. This family was playing down by the river, skipping stones and suchlike. I took a few pictures, trying to get the best composition. I really wanted the dog to go down and play with the children.

The whole scene was a Monet. So I tried to skew towards that in the editing. How could I possibly shoot this as black and white?
