Street art.

“I laugh at the way some people think graffiti is all selfish tagging and vandalism. Thoughtful street art is like good fiction – it speaks out on behalf of everyone, for us all to see.”

I remember “discovering” Banksy in London, when I worked there, back in the early 00’s before Banksy became “cool”.

IMHO street art – particularly well executed works – is the most honest art there is. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy contemporary artists – e.g. an old classmate of mine from 1980-81 is an excellent neo-impressionist (Peter Studley for googolers) – but I’m very fond of Street art… especially poignant is its transience and non-possessiveness. They’re like faces of the world that age and disappear, only to be enjoyed in their brief lifetimes.

This photo, thankfully, will preserve at least this one.
