The book was good, the movie is getting rave reviews…but the truth may be a lot more dark.
I read The Salt Path a few years back….it was a good book. And now it has been made into a film (of course).
I had written a draft post about how the narrative of the story holds some resilience wisdom that may be useful in these uncertain times.

In fact, Susan over at her Substack, Courageous Conversations, lists “7 essential lessons for the collapse-aware” that highlight aspects of the film version underscoring just such resilience wisdom.
I had included a quote of these 7 lessons….but for reasons you shall soon see, I just scrubbed them out.
In a plot twist so typical of the days we are living in…..it turns out the whole premise of the book may be built on a steaming pile of deception.
Such is life. If the premise of the entire book is based on lies and deceptions, not to mention using suffering inflicted on fellow humans to leverage a feel-good story (and a pretty substantial royalty windfall) ….any lessons of resilience or anything else for that matter, are rendered empty and worthless.
