Scroll your house.

Small wooden Buddha on a shelf in my house.

Instead of scrolling your smartphone tonight,
put it down.
Put on some music.
And scroll your house.

Notice all those things that you don’t notice.
Those small objects imbued with personal meaning.

A thing you bought on holiday. A thing given by a friend. A knickknack in a jar on the sideboard. A bent photo stuck to the bookcase. A book. A wooden statue. Dim memories re-lit with attention.

Move around. Lift things. Open things. Explore.
Scroll….

  1. Such an interesting Buddha. I like gold-painted wooden ones and I’ve never seen one with a hand positioned like that. Do you know why it was made that way?
