Monochrome photo of 3 palm trees in silhouette against a moody sky.

It is always more than just two things.

Nature loves trees and threes.

Things are seldom binary, and there is a great truth (ie freedom) in appreciating the ‘not two‘-ness of the world.

Especially when it comes to our ideas and beliefs.

For example: Your first response might be that this photo is black-and-white. Or even monochrome.
But it is so much more than those labels.
Look again. Can you see the colours?
No? Then can you see the non-colours?

This photo looks like something. But it is something else I took it sitting at an outside table at a pub in a busy place. There are cars and rubbish and advertising signs and lots of people and noise. And there are way more than three trees just out of frame.

This photo looks like something. But it is something else. And it is also nothing other than what it is.

Three trees.

  1. @shojiwax.com Hum… I have 2 eyes, 2 nostrils, 2 arms, 2 nipples, 2 lungs, 2 balls, 2 legs, 2 feet, 2 halves of my brain, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm part of nature.
