Imagine if tomorrow morning
Every single person's bank account 
defaulted to exactly one million dollars.
USD of course.

Imagine the outrage, the joy, the despair, the relief.

Everyone stay calm!
It's a technical glitch.
A very few would say.
We just need to adjust some code and everything will go back the way it should be.

But it is not a glitch.
And almost everyone stays calm
and things seem to proceed just as they always had, 
only a little better perhaps.


Imagine twenty thousand tomorrow mornings later
Another glitch
And every person's bank account defaults to five hundred dollars.
In local denomination.
 
Except for a very few who get a deposit for the remaining balance.

Here is some Netflix, and a new model smartphone, and better government, and a course in mindfulness, and some war, and free Tiktok, and a car that drives itself!

But it is not a glitch.
And almost everyone stays calm
and things seem to proceed just as they always had, 
only a little better
